Care tips

• Keep in same-sex groups - degus are intensely social
• Feed hay and sugar-free degu or chinchilla pellets; no fruit or molasses
• Ask your vet about blood sugar and dental checks; degus are sugar-sensitive
• Provide a large wheel, branches, and a weekly dust bath
• Handle without grabbing the tail; the tip sheds and won't regrow
